We have a house guest staying with us until his owners come back from Arkansas next week. He is a 175lb Rottweiler/Great Dane mix named Sawyer. We are watching him for my sister and her husband. Really he is a sweet heart and he just lets our bully of a child beat the crap out of him. He’s just smelly and he has this gas that will clear a room for over an hour. So I have to keep my F*ebreeze on hand. Its been an experience. We’ve never dealt with a dog this big before.
I can’t believe Christmas is finally over. Really I can’t believe this year is almost over. It has just flown bye for me. Our Christmas was fantastic. Everything went really smoothly, until Gavin had a meltdown at John’s mom because it was an hour passed his bedtime. Otherwise it was a lot of fun, and we were all spoiled this year.
Christmas eve I hosted dinner for my sister and her family. It was a lot of fun. Although I am pretty sure the baby hates turkey. Because after I ate it on Thanksgiving and on Christmas Eve, I was sick all night. We all spent the whole day in our PJ’s. And my sister and her family came over in theirs too. That night I stayed up til 2am wrapping the remainder of the gifts, and setting up the presents Santa brought for Gavin. John wasn’t feeling well so he was sleeping while I spent 2+ hours putting that damn Laugh and Learn house together. After that I setup all the presents and put out the stockings.

I just wanted to welcome you all to our new home. I think almost everyone has made there way over now. I hope so anyway! I can’t believe how many people read the lives of the Grotegut’s. I had almost 175 people email and comment to get the link. That is so awesome. I feel so popular! HA! No really I am so surprised how many people care to read about my lil Gavi. You all rock!
I am really trying to learn WordPress. So bare with me as things may go up and down. Oh and a few things:
Behind the scenes will be back as soon as I can figure out how to require that users register to view the posts. If anyone knows how to do this, I could really use a hand.
I am still working on a suitable theme. I really want to have someone design one for me. Anyone know who does that? I mean its okay right now. But I would love something even cooler!

Okay I think that is all for now. We will be back after the holiday. I will have a 15 month Gavi update then as well. We’ll also have a lot more pictures coming! Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday’s to you all!
The company I work for actually decided to give bonuses this year. I have gotten one every year since I started working there. But just a few months ago they laid off 600 people, so I thought for sure there was nothing coming my way. To my surprise i got one of the biggest bonuses ever. Woo-Hoo! It was short lived though. We decided to have the Audi fixed today. Three-hundred bucks later and it turns out that it was some frayed wires causing a bunch of sensors to go haywire. Oh well, its fixed. It also fixed this problem where our car would say it was over heating when we turned it on. So its all good. We will take it in Monday to finish the emissions and register it. I will say it is nice having a fully working car again.
The rest of the money is going to pay off some of our leftover Christmas debt. So we didn’t get ahead by much, but we did manage to not go further into debt despite the fact we spent over a grand on Christmas. Ah well. Its the last year we can splurge because I might be quitting my job next year and we’ll be poor.
I do have a massive update to write. But I will leave you with a belly shot for now. I even threw in some bare belly ones as a treat for Corrie. Becasue she was brave and posted hers (which are so much better then mine).
Oh and for those asking about the baby’s name. If you read back to when we found out we were still having a boy 3 weeks ago. You will see we decided to use the name Gage instead. We just liked how the two G’s sounded together. Gage wasn’t even on our list. My nieces best friend at school has the name, and when she mentioned it I really liked it. Although I will say nothing is set in stone. We are still undecided, but we call him Gage for now!
