Busy weeks ahead

My sister Becky and her family drove into town this morning. They are staying with my Step Dad over the weekend, but then they are coming to stay with us on Tuesday through Friday, and then back after the 4th. They stopped by today and it was so fun to see them. I swear her kids get bigger every second. John got to hang out with them too which was fun. He really loves my sister.

Childhood Memories

Nicole Tagged me…

What 5 Things do you miss about your childhood?

But first, the rules to this meme game: Remove the blog at #1 from the following list and bump every one up one place. Add your blog’s name in the #5 spot; link to each of the other blogs for the desired cross pollination effect.

  1. Erica
  2. Sara
  3. Mrs. Flinger
  4. Nicole
  5. Rachael

Next: select new friends to add to the pollen count. Sorry if you were tagged twice!

  1. Ashley
  2. Brandi
  3. Stacey
  4. Sylvie
  5. Sarah

And now, 5 things I miss from Childhood:

1. Having the summer off. I used to spend it running wild, riding my bike, having sleep overs, and swimming my heart out. I get so nostalgic when summer comes. But now it just sucks and all I do it work.

2. Building Forts with my brothers. We used to build so many. It was so fun. Now my brothers are both assholes and we rarely talk.

3. My friends. I had some great friends when I was a kid. Once i hit highschool we mostly lost touch. Now I hear that they are getting married and its so weird.

4. Riding my bike all around. Now it hurts my ass too much to ride a bike. I had this awesome bana seat bike when I was a kid. It was purple and it had streamers coming out of the handle bars. I had a baby seat hooked to the back so I could put my dolls in it and take them for a ride.

5. Playing night games with our neighbors. Every family on our block had about 6 kids a piece. We would all get together at night and play kick the can or steal the flag. It was so fun.

Hair Today…

Gone tomorrow…

So it wasn’t an intentional thing to shave his head. I was in love with his hair, really I was. It was a haircut gone seriously wrong. He had this long hair around his ears so John and i thought we would "fix" it. It was a mullet. Seriously my son had a mullet. So we shaved him. I miss him hair and i have had this dull ache of "I just made a HUGE mistake" for 2 days now. But he is so cute and he pulls of the bald look very nicely. It makes him look more squishy. Based on how fast his hair grew back last time he’ll have a full head by his first birthday (which I already started buying things for, it’s so sad he will be one).

and then there were 3…

Happy 9 months Gavin! I can’t believe in 3 months you will be one. I am in complete and utter denial. Weren’t you just born? I swear you were. I feel like it was yesterday that you were this tiny baby that slept all day. Now you are so big! You are turning into a little boy right in front of my eyes and I have enjoyed every moment of it. Go ahead and keep growing buddy, it’s been so fun watching.

Now on to the fun stuff, Gavin’s 9 month portraits courtesy of my camera :)

Could this kid be a model or what?

Happy Father’s Day Whale Papa

Dsc_3609_fathersday

Gavi and I are really lucky ya know. We have the most awesome husband and Daddy ever. He sacrifices a lot for us. He works 72 hour weeks so that one day soon we’ll be out of debt and I can stay home full time with Gavin. He sacrifices his sleep so I can have more, cause I turn into a psycho without it. He is awesome with Gavin and does more then his share. He is so devoted and I know he and Gavin are always going to have such a special bond because of it. He is the best Daddy in all the world. And I hope Gavin and I made this day special for him.

I am so thankful to have you in my life, I really don’t know what I would do without you. You are the rational half of me that keeps me sane. I love you more than I ever thought was possible. So Happy Father’s Day to you Honey! I hope I do enough to let you know how much I love and apperciate you everyday. You are my world and my rock. Thank you.

Crawling is so overrated

So although Gavin is not crawling (but oh my gosh he is so close. Seriously has been doing a bit of scooting this weekend), he is still mobile in ever sense of the word. He can go from laying down, to sitting, to on his knees, to on his hands and knees, and finally will roll to where he needs to go. Today I was watching such a move, ever so graceful in its motion. Gavin spots a peek a round ball across the slew of toys that are in front of him. He first tries to be lazy (my genes) and just see how far he can reach with his arm. When that doesn’t work he just falls forward smashing himself into 40 small toys and rolls right over the top of them try to get that peek a round, whining all the way. Well he rolled too far and ended up on top of it on his back. He was trying desperately to try and pull it out from under himself. Instead, he gave up and just laid there for a few uncomfortable minutes looking like he had just given up on life. Finally he rolled back over and decided it would be more fun to turn the computer on and off.

Thanks LB!

Gavi’s girl LB over at The Flingers, sent him this super adorable little Dino romper. He wore it to Playgroup on Friday and everyone thought it was so cute. Thank you so much LB!!! We just love it!!

Cause nuttin else is happenin

Thought I would post some super cute pictures of G. This is my favorite outfit that he is wearing. When he wears it I can’t stop kissing the crap out of him. Although I kiss the crap out of him all the time anyway.
