September 22

When I was nearing the end of my pregnancy  I mentioned to a co-worker that I had a feeling that Gavin would be 15 days early. My Due date had been changed a lot during my pregnancy, but my original Due Date was October 7th, which made Gavin exactly 15 days early. Not only that but he was born on 2 of John’s brothers birthdays. Which John and I would both joke about with them (they always hated sharing a birthday). Later I realized he was also born on of my very close friend and mentors birthday. Also my neighbor and friend Becky’s son shares a birthday and a birth time with him. Pretty freaky huh?

His birthday also finished up the calender on my side of the family. Nobody on my side had a birthday in September. There was a birthday in every month except for September. So he is the first September baby in our family.

New blog

So I am coming back more then I thought I would. I think it’s because I have been working nights and there is nothing else to do. Anyway I am copying a lot of others by creating a blog that I can use to bitch and complain about whatever I feel like. I want Lil Baby G just to be about Gavin, and the new blog to be about everything else. I know it’s kind of a pain to have to keep track of all these new blogs. So I understand if you are too busy to read. I would prefer you read about Gavin anyway.

But if you do want to read leave a comment and I will send you the link to the site.

Okay I am going back to my break.

(BTW, Gavin got up on all fours today on the couch and crawled forward to get a toy. Then he got lazy and rolled and just layed on the couch with his toy. But that is progress people!)

Our First Weekend away

Did you know in February that John and I had our first weekend away from Gavin? We went to Park City and spent the weekend spending way too much money at the outlet malls, on room service, and this little cafe inside our hotel. It was a blast being able to drink and be baby free for a couple of days. But the last day I was so homesick for my Goo we ended up checking out early and going home.

While I’m away

I have setup for my website to update you with one random something or other everyday. I thought it might be fun to update you all with facts and things I have never blogged about, or forgot to. So a random musings will be posted daily for your enjoyment until I return on May 18th. Enjoy!

Throwing in the towel…(is that how that saying goes? I think it sounds right?)

But not forever! Lil Baby G is putting the brakes on for a bit (Cause all the cool kids are doing it). Life is running me ragged (literally I feel like a rag, and I kind of smell like a wet one TMI?). I have been working loads of overtime and so has John. I have no time for anything and I feel guilty for having zero time to blog stalk. So instead of wearing myself out, I am just calling it quits for now. I’ll be back after my vacation on May 17th, that will be at the very latest. I’ll post if something HUGE happens with Gavi. Like if he finally stops hating tummy time and learns to crawl, or learns to speak, or becomes a demon spawn of satan and I need to blow off some steam about how he’s made my day a living hell (like that EVER happens). I may even post when I feel like I am back in the swing of life. I dunno we’ll see.

So hopefully some of you will come back when we return. Cuz’ you all rock and I enjoy my blogging friends so much! Until we meet again, I am leaving you with some Gavi Love!

Promise me that you’ll miss him while we’re gone, okay? (Did I mention that his second tooth broke through today? The tooth we thought he already had but it turned out to only be one HUGE one. OH! And he is officially a carnivore. He is eating Stage 2 baby food now and he has been eating all kinds of pureed smelly meat. For some odd reason he prefers it to Apple, Banana, Strawberry dessert. He is so not my kid.)

A Boo-Boo

Gavin got his first Boo-Boo yesterday. We were watching TV last night and he was sitting on my lap. I bent forward to grab my Junior mints off the coffee table, and Gavin decided to leap out of my arms (literally) and he smacked his head on the coffee table. He was okay within a couple of minutes. I felt just horrible.

Well today I noticed he has a bit of a goose egg on his head and a very faint bruise. GAH! I feel so bad. You can only see if when you look closely.

It’s darker in real life. But the flash made it really light.

He says it doesn’t bug him though! (this was right before he tried to launch himself off the couch. He is getting seriously mobile)

Accessorizing

So awhile back I order a kit on making hemp beaded jewelry. Well I was bored over the weekend and I pulled it out. I made a couple of bracelets for Gavin and they turned out pretty cute (well at least I think so). I bought a lot of cute ones off of eBay. But these are more "boyish".

7 months in the making

I thought it would be fun to celebrate Gavin turning 7 months old by doing a timeline.

I knew it!

Gavin has two toy boxes and a basket full of toys. Today I took the Peek-a-blocks Giraffe and Noah’s ark he got for Christmas out of the box. I spread them out around him and do you know what he went for? Just take a look…

Happy Trails to you

Gus found a new home today. Our Ad had been up in the paper for just a couple of hours when someone called to come look at him. I am feeling really good about the home he went to. It was an older couple probably in their 60′s, they were just adorable. They already have a female pug named Peaches, so they know how Pug’s are . The old man was cuddling Gus and they had already decided they wanted to name him "Cream" (I know that is just sad and wrong) Get it Peaches and Cream. Kind of cute I guess. I told them all about Gus’s little quirks and how he has accidents. They still wanted him! So he went home with them around 1:30 today. I must admit I kind of miss him. But I am glad he is with someone who can deal with him peeing all over their house. LuLu is kind of sad. But she’ll adjust. She prefers to be an only dog anyway.
